May 10, 2013, Glen Cove Mansion Introduces The Great Gatsby Wedding Package On Long Island’s Legendary North Shore Gold Coast
Glen Cove, New York, May 2013 ... One of the last remaining vestiges of the period immortalized by F. Scott Fitzgerald in The Great Gatsby, Glen Cove Mansion has reached back to this glamorous and extravagant era of Long Island Gold Coast estates with its new Great Gatsby Wedding Package. The extravagant wedding package transports guests back to this the decadent and delightful 1920s, with premium “prohibition-busting” wines, champagne, gins & whiskeys (very few of the Gold Coast mansions were dry during this period), martini and cordial bars, sumptuous hors d’oeuvres typical of the period prepared by Glen Cove Mansion’s European-trained Executive Chef, amuse-bouche delicacies, fabulous entrees and carved selections, ice carved décor accents, gleaming silver serving pieces, and so much more, including jazz!
Though Glen Cove Mansion is now a Long Island hotel, the estate remains intact with its original 55 acres, period state rooms with magnificent original architectural ornamentation, crystal chandeliers, marble fireplaces and floors, and a grand double staircase – perfect for a bride to descend. Views to Long Island Sound are still visible.
Even Gatsby’s pool party can be recalled at The Mansion’s original Jazz Age pool, where cocktails can be served and intimate gatherings held. Upstairs is The Mansion’s Pub 1910 -- located in what was once the 3rd floor billiard rooms, after-wedding celebrating continues to the wee hours of the night.
